The West Australian Ballet performs the greatest love story ever told, accompanied by West Australian Symphony Orchestra, Romeo and Juliet.
When young Romeo Montague tricks his way in the lavish masked ball of the Capulet family it is love at first sight. But the Capulet's and Montague's are old enemies and the immediate passion between Romeo and the beautiful Juliet Capulet is quickly forbidden. Euphoric with love and forgoing the approval of their families, the young lovers play by their own rules, and soon hatch a dangerous plot that ends in heart breaking tragedy.
This acclaimed international production from Deutsche oper am Rhein is set in the 1930s and features an evocative set and costumes from the period.
Romeo and Juliet will open at his Majesty's Theatre on 3 July 2009.
