Select the register link in the top right hand corner of this website. Enter your desired username and password along with a current e-mail address. Please note: Ensure you use an email address which you have access to as you will be required to confirm your registration via a link emailed to you. Confirm your details and click the submit button.

To complete your registration an e-mail will be sent to your registered email address requesting you select the link to authorise your account. When you have completed the registration process you will automatically be directed to the Top 5 user administration area, which allows you to set your preferences and upload free classified advertisements. In future you will be able to login to your Top 5 user account by clicking on login on the top right hand corner of the Top 5 home page.

Security Note: We suggest you use both letters and numbers in your password for added security.

If you have spam, virus or internet security software installed on your computer, first check your spam or junk mail folder for your confirmation email.

If you are certain you have not received it, please email us at webmaster@top5guide.com.au and we will resend your confirmation email to you.

The confirmation process has been implemented to protect your privacy an ensure any registration of  your email address has your authorisation..

To submit your own classified advertisement on the Top 5 website you must first be a registered user or client.

Once you register with Top 5 you will have access to your own administration area which will allow you to easily upload as many free advertisements as you wish. To do this you simply Login to your administration area by clicking on the login link which can be found in the top right hand corner of the Top 5 Business Guide home page.

Once you have logged in click on the My Classifieds link in the menu, then in the new window which opens click on Post Classifieds Ad.

You must first select the category which you want your advertisement to appear under. If you are unsure about where your ad' should be placed you can try a keyword search in the Classified section to locate other ads of a similar variety. Once you have chosen your category you then need to enter the details of the item you are selling. This may also include an image. Once you click "submit" your advertisement will be submitted for processing.

Once approved by Top 5 Classified Admin, your advertisement will be online. You will be notified when your advertisement is approved. This usually occurs within 24 hours of you submitting your advertisement.

Top 5 Classifieds are free for private users of the Top 5 website and Top 5 clients. Only commercial entities who are not Top 5 clients are restricted from using the Top 5 free classifieds. All users are requested to agree to the Top 5  "Terms & Conditions of Use".

 There are several ways of finding a business you're looking for on Top 5. Best of all, they are all easy! 

1. Select one of the primary categories House, Garden, Professional Services, Healthy & Beauty, Lifestyle, Auto & Boating or Leisure & Entertainment. From here you can browse the sub category options to find what you're looking for.
2. Find a business you're looking for by searching for a business type, product or service. For example if you were looking for a new car, you may type the keyword 'vehicle' in the search field, any categories which match your keyword search will then be displayed. What will also be displayed is specific businesses which have a match to your selected keyword.
3. Search by business name. If you are searching for a particular Top 5 Business, you can try searching for the specific business by the the business name. To do this enter the business name in the 'business name' search field and click search. You may wish to try a partial search - for example if you are looking for Joe Bloe Plumbing, entering the search criteria 'joe' will pick up all matches to business containing this word.
4. Search by keyword. All Top 5 businesses have entered 'keywords' which relate to their business. These may relate to the services they provide, products they sell or other things specific to their business. For example if you are seeking a particular brand of television, you may wish to enter the brand you are looking for in a keyword search. This will return any matches to Top 5 Businesses who provide this specific brand and have entered it as one of their keywords. 

Once you register as a Top 5 user you will have access to your own administration area. From there you can select from a range of automatic notifications and updates.These include the ability to subscribe to newsletters, specials and promotions from individual businesses, or from businesses within categories you are interested in, for example, restaurants or sporting goods.

You will also have the opportunity to subscribe to receive automatic notification of new events in a range of different categories. You can easily unsubscribe to any notifications you have selected at any time via your user administration area. 

Some ad blocking programs, such as Norton Internet Security, work by directly insert their own JavaScript into webpages viewed by your browser, protecting you from seeing unwanted ads. However this can interfere with the normal operation of the website. Standard JavaScript functions like image rollovers and non-ad popups may also be affected, preventing you from viewing legitimate parts of a site.

To resolve this issue, check to see if you're running any ad blocking software on your computer or in your browser. Many programs provide you with the option of allowing popups for specific site. Try disabling it for this website, then restart your browser and view the problem page again.

To clear the cache in Internet Explorer

1.       Start Internet Explorer.

2.       Click Tools > Internet Options.

3.       Click Delete Cookies.

4.       When you see the prompt "Delete all cookies in the Temporary Internet File folder?" click OK.

5.      Click Clear History.

When you see the prompt "Are you sure you want Windows to delete your history of visited Web sites?" click Yes. Click OK.

If you are using a 2004 product, you can configure Ad Blocking from the Web Assistant icon in the Web browser's taskbar. Just click the globe icon next to the words "Web assistant" and uncheck "Block ads on this site" or "Block pop-ups on this site". This automatically refreshes the Web site.
